Mizuno Mp 630 Fast Track Driver

  • Mizuno Mp 630 Fast Track Driver Review
  1. The Mizuno MP-630 Driver is the ultimate Tour-ready driver. The MP-630 possesses a player preferred pear-shaped head, and a low, shallow center of gravity for medium-low spin and penetrating yet workable ball flight. The Hot Metal face of MP-630 is sheet forged 6-4 Titanium with Cortech design which.
  2. Jan 21, 2010  The Mizuno MP-630 Fast Track driver builds on the first edition of the Fast Track system from the MP-600 driver. It has a smaller 445cc head than the standard MP-630 driver and the classic looks means it sits beautifully at address like most Mizuno drivers.

Mizuno MP630 Fast Track Driver - 10.5 * Stiff Fubuki 64 shaft
As above.
Mizuno MP630 Fast Track 10.5 degree driver with Stiff Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki 64 Shaft. Widely acknowledged as one of the best 'made for' shafts out there.
2 moveable 8g weights in the sole allow for multiple combinations of adjustment for your swing. Included is the adjustment tool (pictured).
Supplied with the original MP630 Fast Track headcover (IMO one of the nicest looking headcovers around).
Finished off with a Golf Pride New Decade White Out grip in Mizzy blue and white, just adds a nice finishing touch.
Condition wise, it's in excellent shape, no dings, pops or sky marks, and only minimal usage marks on the sole.
Cleaned after every round, dried fully and the black finish is treated with Black T-Cut colour polish (overkill maybe but I like to look after my gear). Shaft is A1 with not a single mark on it and the grip is only a few months old.
£75 delivered. Thanks for looking.

What do you guys think about the mp-630 and mp-630 fast track?

Love mine with a blueboard shaft. Great feel and solid feel. I don't have the fast track.

I have the non-fast track as well, and it's my favorite driver. I have the stock Fubuki 9.5* stiff and it's the longest driver I've had..for a stock shaft, the Fubuki is pretty good. In my opinion, this driver was overlooked.

Consensus seemed to be that the non-Fast Track version was lower spinning, although the FT system worked. Fubuki shaft proved to be a beefed up 'made-for' that had a stronger tip than the real one. Lots of people really liked it. I tried it once and thought it was a bomber. Posted some great numbers on the monitor and stacked up well against my 9015D, which was my gamer at the time. Been thinking about picking up one of the these as well lately. Strange timing.

Had the same experience as everyone else. The Non Fast Track seemed to be lower spin (actually too low spin for me), but the Fast Track is an absolute bomber. Have it with a Fuji F3 and it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

How do you guys feel the forgiviness on this driver is? The head is slightly smaller and mizuno isn't know for forgiviness. My buddy has the fast track version and I like it but I only hit it on the range a few times.

See if you can borrow his for a round to find out for yourself.I play the fast track & the FT Tour,so there both similar in size.I find them both pretty forgiving, but i do hit the ball near the center of the face.IMO, it's a keeper./good.gif' alt=':good:' />

I just bought one off ebay. We have a postal strike here in Canada though, so I won't get a chance to game it anytime soon. I love my i15 anyway, just needed to try something different for variety sake. Nothing from 2011 appeals to me at all including the 910's.
To me some of the best looking/playing drivers are from years gone by. Hopefully the Mp-630 plays alot like the i15.

I think it is pretty forgiving. But if you put a bad swing on it, you will get a poor result. I bought it to replace my mp 600. This is definitely more forgiving.
I think mizzy makes some great drivers and they have very hot faces. I have hit my longest drives with the blueboard mp 630. I also like how it is more shallow faced. For me, I can work a shallow faced driver much easier.

Why don't the mizuno dudes play these drivers then?
Just because they get paid to use the R11 or whatever TM club they got? Is TM really paying that much? Surely a dude like Luke Donald or Byrd can get what they need playing the Mizuno driver?

I have the MP630 with stock, Fubuki shaft. This driver definitely has performance and forgiveness and I like it. However, I have a problem with dispersion (accuracy) which I want to attribute to the regular flex shaft. If I try to add extra horse power to my swing, it will go right (fast).
My driver swing speed is typically 94 - 97, with an aggressive or fast tempo. That swing type does not match the stock Fubuki regular flex shaft.
My MP630 is currently being reshafted with a Grafalloy Platinum Axis, stiff shaft, cut to play at 45 inches. I think my dispersion issues are going to be solved and I still anticipate good distance.
My current hc index is 14.0. And my scoring is more limited by short game and putting issues rather than irons and metals.
  • #13
Is the 630 longer than the 600? I have a 600 with a blueboard and it is really accurate but I wouldn't mind 10-12 more yards.
  • #14
I have had both and I got rid of the 630. I had a FT version in 10.5 w/ a PX shaft in it and could not keep it on the planet. The driver did not make it two rounds. I traded it in. I still have the 600 w/ a talamonti shaft that I keep whenever I want a different feel. Very solid driver.

Whats the ball flight like? Low? Penetrating? Balloon?
Are they true to the stated loft?
    Thanks

The non-FT version was fairly low spin and launch, as I remember. I don't know why the Fast Track system makes a difference, but it did for me. Like hitting two very different drivers. The FT version seemed a little deader and launched a bit higher for some reason.

TM pays, and the Mizuno, although good, is no better than a custom fit R11. Mizuno doesn't care about getting their woods into the hands of their tour players. Although I have to say, the 3 wood is as good or better than any other 3 wood out there..

I have the Mizuno MP600 fast track and a Mizuno MP630 non fast track. The MP600 has a UST Mamiya ATTAS-T2 in it and is my gamer and has been for the last 2 1/2 years..previously had a RT Technologies Zeus in it. The MP630 has a House of Forged Prototype HD in it and my brother is using it. Both are monster drivers. The combo of low spin and low launch head combined with a mid/high launch and low spin shaft is unbelievable. I have tried virtually every driver out there and non come close to the Mizuno MP drivers in feel, accuracy, and distance combined. I personally think that you cannot get a better driver, and the price for a new one is way less than anything on the market today.

I have used both, and had an mp600. I kept the mp630FT in Reg fubuki shaft. I like its slightly closed face, or is it a modern neutral? I dunno.
Nice feel off the face, not real springy or launchy. the sound is a nice whack, not a poing! beautiful head shape. today's drivers all pretty much fly the same in terms of distance, and really, for most it isn't distanced that is the issue with driver. the FT system is easy to work, and I think it does a good job, but really, it is not a GI technology. the FT affects side spin more than anything from what I can tell. works really well with the Bridgestone E6 ball - for those who leak to the right.
it is really quite a beautiful driver. can be had used for under $200 new on Ebay.what's not to like>?

I used to have a 600 that yielded very high ball speeds. Great club.

I used to play a 600 as well. Loved it, don't have any idea why I sold it. Never felt that the weights did a thing. Played it in the neutral postion for the most solid feel. The one thing I remember is it was head heavy. I think that might be why the 630ft is smaller, to offset the weight.
Never been attracted to adjustable clubs, that's why I bought the non-fast track this time around. Of course if our mail strike doesn't end soon, I may never know how they compare.

I still have my mp 600. I may have to play it this weekend. I have a prolaunch red shaft in it and I think it is a little harsh. Any recommendations to throw in it? I do like my blueboard in the mp 630 but want to put something in it that costs a little less but has the same characteristics.

Maybe something like a YS-6 would be a poor man's Blueboard. But, really, if my Blueboard in my MP600 broke, I'd beg, borrow, steal to put in another one.

I have a a non-FT 630 and I really like it. I can't imagine it fit many people as it is definately the lowest launching/spinning OEM driver I have ever hit. I normally play an X or XX shaft and usually less that 8* of loft and with the 630 I am getting a better trajectory and less spin with a 9.5* head and a stiff shaft. Its not super forgiving but it is intended for a better player. Aside from being really long, the feel off the face is great. If there was a way to create an equivalent feel to their forged irons Mizuno found it in this driver. Great club but certainly not for everyone.

So I have been playing it the last 2 rounds and love it! Distance isn't a problem but I am hitting it further than expected and really like the feel.
I have been hitting the FT version but am thinking about buying the non FT version. Anything I should be aware of?
